Textron names new human resources VP

PROVIDENCE – Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) today announced the promotion of 21-year company veteran Cathy A. Streker to vice president of human resources and benefits, effective immediately. She also will become an officer of the corporation, and will continue to serve as a member of the Textron Strategy Council.
Streker will report directly to John D. Butler, Textron’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer.
“Cathy is a proven, seasoned executive who has earned the trust and respect of her colleagues through a 21-year track record of success in increasingly demanding positions,” Butler said in a statement this afternoon. “Textron is committed to developing our high-potential talent and offering them diverse and challenging career opportunities. Cathy has seized these opportunities and has grown to become one of our finest leaders.”
Streker earned her bachelor’s degree at Rhode Island College and an MBA at Bryant University. A 2001 graduate of Leadership Rhode Island and a certified Textron “Six Sigma Green Belt,” she also has completed many company-sponsored certificate programs at the American International School of Management, the Center for Creative Leadership, Ohio State University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
She succeeds George E. Metzger, who will be retiring on Jan. 1 after 22 years of service.
