PROVIDENCE – Textron Inc. has appointed Lisa Atherton as president and CEO of Textron Systems Corp., a military-oriented division of Textron, the company announced Wednesday.

The decision comes following President Donald Trump’s decision to appoint Ellen Lord, now former CEO of Textron Systems as Under Secretary of Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics within the Department of Defense, which was announced Tuesday.

Atherton most recently served as executive vice president of military business at Bell Helicopter, another subsidiary of Textron.

“Lisa is a proven leader who will provide the direction and guidance for Textron Systems to execute our current programs and generate future growth with products like our ship to shore connector and shadow tactical unmanned aircraft system as well as new and next generation products and programs,” said Textron Chairman and CEO Scott C. Donnelly.
