At an awards ceremony on May 8, The Fund for Community Progress will honor outstanding community leaders and Campaign 2012-13 achievements. The ceremony takes place from 6:00 – 8:00pm at the Rhode Island Shriners Imperial Room, One Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI. It is open to the public, cost is $25 per person and payable at the door.
At this event, The Fund will honor Dan Jaehnig with its Profile in Change Award. Dan Jaehnig is a six-time Emmy Award winning journalist and the prime time evening anchor at WJAR NBC 10 News. Committed to his community, Dan has been recognized for his volunteer work by several organizations including the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center, Inspiring Minds, Meals on Wheels and the Citizens Bank Champions in Action Program.

The Fund for Community Progress Profile in Change Award is Rhode Island’s distinctive honor for those who have dedicated their lives to creating positive change in the community. Throughout its 3o+ year history, The Fund has followed a mission to create social change – change that is vital to guaranteeing fairness and opportunity for all Rhode Islanders.
The Fund will also recognize Deborah DeBare, Executive Director of the RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence with the Susan Hamilton Welin Award for Nonviolence, and City of Central Falls Mayor James Diossa with the Sister Carol McGovern Voice for the Voiceless Award.
