The list of long-standing Rhode Island restaurants suddenly closing keeps getting longer. The Remington House Inn, a mainstay in the Apponaug area of Warwick, announced Saturday night on the restaurant’s Facebook page it would shut down operations as of November 30. as has been the case with several others in the state this fall, came without warning and took customers by surprise.
Customers raised concerns on social media about gift cards that had been recently purchased. While responses attributed to management stated only that gift cards would be honored until November 30, no reason was given for the closing or if staff was notified in advance.

A PBN phone call to the restaurant on Saturday evening confirmed the closing but no other details were given, only a referral to an unnamed owner.
The Remington House Inn opened in 2002 and was popular among diners especially for special occasions.
