Third R.I. SBA Emerging Leaders cohort graduates

PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island branch of the U.S. Small Business Administration Monday announced the eight executives which make up the third cohort of graduates from its Emerging Leaders program.

“Real results” come from participation in the program, said Rhode Island district director Mark S. Hayward in a statement. “This is the third group we have graduated through this program and it is evident that the curriculum helps elevate these individuals and their businesses to new heights and greater success,” he added.

This year’s graduates include:

  • Daxa Arora, CEO of East Greenwich-based from Curia Systems Inc.
  • Thomas Bucci, CEO of Warwick Ice Cream Company
  • Courtney Camera, director of operations at Camera O’Neill Consulting Engineers in Portsmouth
  • Stacy Corrigan, broker president of Woonsocket’s Peace of Mind Property Management & Real Estate Inc.
  • Abby Gordon, technical support manager at Glasgow Consulting Group in Narragansett
  • Henry Hodge, president of HCH Enterprises LLC in Providence
  • Melodi Landi, owner and manager of Furry Fellas Pet Service LLC in Coventry
  • Walter Valencia, financial controller at North Kingstown’s J. Goodison Company Inc.

An executive-level, education series, participants in the Emerging Leaders program engaged in 100 hours of business strategy seminars, financial analysis as well as marketing and sales skills workshops. The 2017 instructor was Gil Lantini, co-founder of Integrated Media Group in Johnston and founder and president of the Rhode Island Small Business Journal.
