PROVIDENCE – The WJAR-TV NBC 10 website – Turnto10.com – won its third Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Broadcast-Affiliate Website, the news organization announced Friday.

The regional award from the Radio & Television Digital News Association puts Turnto10.com in the running for a national Murrow Award to be announced in June.

“I am so proud of the work our news team does on a daily basis, across multiple platforms, to keep Southern New England informed,” Chris Lanni, NBC 10 news director said in a news release. “To be recognized by our peers for the work we do for our viewers is a great honor.”

Entries were judged by a panel of regional and national professional journalists and rated on depth and quality of content, innovation, use of audio and video, visual design, functionality and usability, interactivity and storytelling techniques.

“When news happens, the NBC 10 news team jumps into action, keeping in constant contact with our viewers on-air, online, on mobile devices, through the NBC 10 app and on social media websites like Facebook and Twitter,” said Kim Reis, digital media and marketing director for WJAR.

The WJAR-TV NBC 10 news team will accept the award on May 18 at the association’s awards dinner in Newton, Mass.
