The new funding consists of $4 million for next-generation radar from the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and a $2.4 million congressional earmark to develop a Wideband Digital Airborne Electronic Sensing Array for the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Applied Radar CEO William H. Weedon said.
The congressional appropriation was secured by U.S. Sen. Jack Reed and U.S. Rep. James Langevin.
In addition, Paramount Solutions Inc. – a U.S. women-owned small business with offices in Newport, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. – has been awarded a five-year, $3.4 million contract for advanced engineering and technology services at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport.
Paramount Solutions will provide NUWC with engineering consulting services and expertise, including systems research, requirements definition, engineering, design and performance assessment for Navy undersea-systems technologies and new submarine combat systems.
