How would you describe the culture of your workplace? We foster a culture that embraces equity, encourages individual leadership, leverages strengths, fosters accountability and enhances cross-organizational connection to the mission, vision, values and fundamentals of United Way of Rhode Island.
What modifications have you made to your workplace to support employee wellness? We believe that employees who feel well, do well. We have a range of employee wellness initiatives, including our new employee wellness room, speakers and facilitators who provide proactive solutions to wellness such as art, meditation, journaling and more. Finally, for staff who need more direct support, we have an active employee access program available to our entire team.
How do you support community service work by your employees? “Community First” is our motto here at United Way of Rhode Island. It’s central to the work we do but we also believe in supporting our staff in giving back to the community. We create space and encourage staff to volunteer for local nonprofits and to engage civically in their community.
