Ventura chosen to succeed Fields
at RIHousing

PROVIDENCE – Carol Ventura has been named the CEO and executive director of the R.I. Housing and Mortgage Finance Corp., RIHousing announced Wednesday.

Ventura has been serving as interim CEO and executive director following the departure of Barbara Fields in March.

“I’m honored for the opportunity to serve RIHousing in a greater capacity and to continue pursuing our mission to help Rhode Islanders buy, keep, rent and build homes,” stated Ventura.

RIHousing said that a search committee including members of the Executive Office of Commerce conducted a national search for Fields’ successor.

Ventura previously served as deputy director, director of development at RIHousing.

“No candidate was more well-versed in RIHousing’s priorities and operations than Carol,” said Nicolas Retsinas, chair of the RIHousing board of commissioners, in a statement. “Her ideas for expanding RIHousing’s reach and impact are ambitious and will be crucial as the corporation continues to grow and innovate in the years to come.”
