NORTH SCITUATE – Verizon Wireless has expanded its 3G network coverage to North Scituate, it said in a news release on March 2.
Verizon said it activated a new cell site that expands the voice and 3G coverage along the Danielson Pike, Route 6, Route 116 and parts of Route 101 in North Scituate, as well as surrounding areas.
The telecommunications giant also noted that it has invested more than $2.8 billion in its New England network since 2000, including more than $242 million in 2010.
The company, which recently debuted its 4G LTE network in Boston and 38 other metropolitan areas, says it plans to launch 140 additional 4G LTE markets in 2011, covering two-thirds of U.S. wireless users by the year-end.
