Verizon launches TechSure protection, with 3 levels of defense

PROVIDENCE – Wireless network provider Verizon – with retail stores in Rhode Island – has launched a new product: TechSure.

The protection service for viruses and more is suitable for TVs, laptops, tablets, thermostats, security cameras, doorbells and even lightbulbs. It comes in three levels, at three price points, according to the company.

TechSure, at $10 a month, offers phone support to all devices, including software installation, device-setup support and troubleshooting. TechSure Plus includes the features of the basic package, plus virus protection, identity theft protection and parental controls from LifeLock and McAfee, for $15 per month. For a monthly fee of $30, TechSure Premium can provide the TechSure Plus benefits as well as protection for connected devices, such as TVs, tablets or a thermostat, which will be repaired or replaced in case of trouble. The TechSure Plus package also includes a feature that digitally keeps all customer passwords secure.

TechSure can be purchased by Verizon Fios and high-speed internet customers by logging into their Verizon account, or through the My Fios app.
