Verrecchia joins FGX board

SMITHFIELD – Alfred J. Verrecchia has added another board seat to his resume. The chairman of the board of Hasbro Inc. has joined the board of directors of FGX International Holdings Ltd., the maker of Foster Grant sunglasses and other fashion accessories and clothing.
Alec Taylor, the chairman and chief executive officer of FGX, said in a statement released earlier today that Verrecchia’s “decades of experience managing one of the world’s most successful branded products companies will be of tremendous value to FGX International as we continue to grow our business.”
Prior to becoming chairman of Hasbro’s board, Verrecchia held a number of positions with the Pawtucket-based toymaker, including president and CEO from 2003 until his retirement in May 2008. In addition to his Hasbro board chairmanship, he is chairman of the board of Lifespan, the state’s largest health care system, as well as a member of the board of FM Global, the Rhode Island-based insurance giant.
