JAMESTOWN – A Victorian estate designed and built by Charles Bevins in 1888 has sold for $1.7 million, according to listing agent Justin Gallant, principal broker at J.E. Group Properties of South Kingstown.
The home at 52 Newport St. known as “The Boulders” was purchased by Don and Susan Carlson of Old Greenwich, Conn.

The house had been restored and upgraded by the sellers, who sold it furnished. One of its unique features is a stone fireplace that includes a portrait of “Old North Wind” by the landscape artist William Trost Richards.
The sale was announced June 23.
