BOSTON – The John Hancock Financial Network member offices in Warwick and Rocky Hill, Conn., have merged into a single entity called Independence Financial Partners.
The goal is to support the offices’ continued growth across southern New England, and into New York state and western Massachusetts, JHFN President Peter Gordon said today.
The combined enterprise brings together specialists in investments, long-term care, retirement planning and employee-benefit markets, the company said.
Independent Financial will be led by co-managing partners Richard Beaulieu Jr., who holds the CLU and ChFC designations, and Kevin Beaulieu, ChFC.
Richard Beaulieu, a resident of East Greenwich, began his financial services career in 1986, after graduating from the University of Rhode Island, and joined the John Hancock network in 1990. Kevin Beaulieu, a Warwick resident and graduate of Boston College, is a 15-year industry veteran and a member of the board of the Rhode Island Society of Financial Services.
Managing the firm’s Connecticut office will be Richard Affenito, CLU and CLTC, a 30-year financial services veteran and a resident of Cromwell, Conn., who has been with the John Hancock network since 1997.
Independent Financial will be one of the largest firms in the JHFN nationwide network, with 70 financial representatives and more than $1.2 billion in assets under management, Brian Heaps, the John Hancock network’s executive vice president of sales and business development, said in a statement today.
“This merger creates an even-stronger financial-services organization, resulting in a higher level of service to help meet the unique financial needs of each client,” Heaps added.
John Hancock Financial Network is a Boston-based network of independent firms employing more than 1,800 financial professionals nationwide. Additional information about JHFN and its member firms, including Independence Financial Partners, is available at www.jhnetwork.com.
