Wash Trust finances purchase of Zooma building

PROVIDENCE – The Washington Trust Co.’s commercial and industrial lending group – in participation with the Ocean State Business Development Corp. – recently provided $1.17 million in financing to New 1200 LLC to buy the Atwells Avenue building that houses Trattoria Zooma.
The 4,500-square-foot building, at 245 Atwells Ave., is located in the heart of Federal Hill’s row of restaurants.
“New 1200 LLC’s commitment to the historic Federal Hill neighborhood is important during a time when our economy is beginning to stabilize and more people are enjoying dining out,” said Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust’s chairman, president and CEO.
The bank did not disclose the plans for the restaurant or the building where it is located.
Trattoria Zooma serves traditional Neapolitan food. James K. Cardi is listed as the contact person for New 1200 in state business filings. Cardi is a co-owner of the restaurant.
