Web-based calendar to help preparedness

PROVIDENCE – The Hospital Association of Rhode Island (HARI), the R.I. Department of Health and the R.I. Emergency Management Agency last week announced the launch of a Web-based event calendar designed to facilitate coordination of emergency-preparedness events.
According to a news release, the calendar will be used by hospitals, municipalities and state agencies, reducing scheduling conflicts and increasing the opportunity to share resources and collaborate.
A $16,000 federal grant was used to purchase the event calendar, the release said. The calendar is designed to complement other preparedness tools, such as the Hospital Capacity System and the upcoming Patient Tracking System, developed in conjunction with the Hospital Preparedness Planning Committee (HPPC).
