Zachary G. Darrow, managing partner of the Providence and Boston business law firm DarrowEverett, has been most inspired by his late father, Guy Darrow.
The elder Darrow passed away when Zachary was 4 years old. “The memory of my father and my appreciation for how precious time is … have been my driving force for cherishing each day that I have … to accomplish as much as I can,” Zachary Darrow said in his 40 Under Forty application.
DarrowEverett was created by Darrow and Eric Everett, both former partners at other local law firms, to focus on commercial real estate and business transactional matters. Darrow envisioned a business operation that maintained all the expertise and benefits of a larger firm, but at the same time gave clients the opportunity to develop strong relationships with the firm. DarrowEverett LLP opened its doors in January 2007 with four employees. Today, there are 19.
Darrow’s extensive business experience includes working as a Fortune 100 retailer, responsible for managing a national pipeline of more than 200 fee-for-service, self-development, and turnkey real estate projects. The job gave him a unique perspective on commercial real estate transactions.
He also has been a partner at Burns & Levinson LLP of Providence and Boston, an associate with Hinckley Allen Snyder LLP in Providence and senior real estate deal manager with CVS Pharmacy/CVS Realty Co. in Woonsocket.
DarrowEverett has been lead or local counsel to the buyers of five real estate developments in the Providence financial district during the past year. •
