PROVIDENCE – Hasbro Inc., Brown University and Ocean State Job Lot ranked in Forbes’ 2017 America’s Best Mid-size Employers list. The study polled more than 30,000 employees anonymously through several online panels that were not through employers. The most heavily weighted poll question in the report was how likely an employee would be to recommend working for their employer.
Of the 301 companies that made the list, Hasbro ranked highest of the three Rhode Island employers that made the list at No. 27. In the packaged good category, Hasbro was ranked second to Lush, a United Kingdom-based cosmetics company with U.S. retail locations, that topped the overall list this year at No. 1.

Massachusetts placed 27 companies on the list, with the highest-ranking Bay State enterprise being Boston-based CDM Smith.
Specific data was not released for each company. However, the report noted that workers were most likely to recommend their employer due to positive atmosphere at work, pride in service or products that their company provides and salary.
To produce the list, Forbes paired with Statista, a German statistics database and research firm. Companies on the mid-size list had between 1,000 and 5,000 empolyees.
