Job fair for Fall River Amazon center in works

FALL RIVER – The help-wanted sign hasn’t been raised at the Amazon.com facility yet, but that day is getting closer, according to The Herald News.

The Fall River Career Center has been accepting names of individuals who want to work at the 1 million square-foot fulfillment center being built for Amazon in the biopark on the Fall River-Freetown line.

“They are a little bit ahead of [construction] schedule,” Ken Fiola, executive vice president of the Fall River Office of Economic Development, told board members earlier this month.

Amazon plans to operate a package shipping center from the facility, by the fall of this year. Amazon estimates it will hire at least 500 people for the facility, which has parking for 1,400,
