BCSB’s foundation gives $49K to Pawtucket groups

Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation – Pawtucket Advisory Board, the charitable arm of Bristol County Savings Bank, announced $49,725 in grants to Pawtucket organizations during a recent open house at the bank’s Pawtucket office.
Notably, $22,000 of the total was awarded to the Pawtucket School Department to help with the restoration and support of music programs in Pawtucket’s 15 public schools serving grades K through 12.
Representatives from the Pawtucket School Department were on hand to accept the grant, along with representatives from three other organizations receiving grants: Charles Shea High School ($5,000), the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island ($8,000) and the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre ($7,000).
The foundation also announced grants to Hospice of Nursing Placement Inc. ($2,500), Rhode Island Tutorial and Education Services ($1,725) and St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church – Daily Bread Food Pantry ($3,500). Additionally, a total of $7,000 in scholarships was provided to seven local high schools. •
