Mary Lee Partington has been named chairwoman of the board for the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. She taught English from 1979 to 2007 at Burrillville High School, is a founding member of the Celtic music ensemble Pendragon and is a founder of the Blackstone River Theatre and Heritage Arts Studio. She is collaborating on a mentoring program for new elementary and secondary teachers. •
