William P. Arena has been named assistant vice president of mortgage lending at The Washington Trust Co. He will be responsible for residential loan and deposit services for the East Bay, Aquidneck Island and southeastern Massachusetts areas. Arena has more than 12 years of mortgage and sales experience. He studied commercial banking and aviation at Northeast Louisiana University and served in the United States Marine Corps. •
