Hotel Providence receives AAA award

Hotel Providence earned a AAA Four Diamond rating for its first year of operation. It is the second property in Providence to acquire this status.

“We are very pleased to have earned this distinguished award,” said Stanley Weiss, the developer and principal of the Hotel Providence. “It reflects all the hard work and effort that goes into developing and operating this luxury hotel. We owe this prestigious recognition to our diligent staff working under the direction of our General Manager, Manish Bhatia —formerly of the Westin— and our management consultant, Tim Kirwan, of the Hotel Commonwealth in Boston.”

The Hotel Providence, a Small Luxury Hotels of the World affiliate, opened in January of 2005. It is located on Westminster Street in the heart of Providence’s Downcity Arts and Entertainment District, and is within walking distance to the theater and shopping districts, financial district, educational institutions, convention center and other city attractions.

According to AAA, more than 44,000 properties are evaluated each year. Approved properties are included in AAA’s popular TourBook travel guides, and also have the opportunity to be included in many of the 200 retail travel guidebooks published by AAA each year.

As North America’s largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides nearly 47 million members with travel, insurance and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
