Rhode Island stocks rose, led by Amgen Inc and CVS Corp., according to yesterday’s Rhode Island Index reports.
A price weighted list of companies with operations in the region, gained 0.84 to 242.11. Amgen Inc., rose 1.47 to 66.13. CVS Corp. rose 1.03 to 36.75. In the broader market, the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose 4.13 to 1,135.26. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 11.11 to 10,499.18. The Index was developed with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 31, 1996.
