Hurricane forces some ferry cancellations

Some scheduled trips of the Providence/Newport ferry service will be canceled this week because of expected rough seas in Narragansett Bay from Hurricane Isabel, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority announced Monday.

On Wednesday, the 10:45 a.m. ferry from Providence and the 12:15 p.m. ferry from Newport are cancelled. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the 1:45 p.m. ferry from Providence and the 3:15 ferry from Newport are cancelled.
