Ergonomics hearings on the way

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States Department of Labor is expected to announce that it will hold three hearings in July to determine how it will handle ergonomics-related injuries in the workplace. The first public forum will be held July 16 in Washington D.C. followed by hearings July 20 in Chicago and July 24 in California. Labor Secretary Elaine Chao has said her approach to combating ergonomic injuries in the workplace would emphasize prevention, flexibility for business, use of sound science, and the cooperation between the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and employers.
