BankFive was recently awarded the Hubert H. Humphrey Business Leadership Award by Citizens for Citizens Inc. Since 1990, the Fall River-based community action agency has presented the award to businesses that provide support to its mission of improving the quality of life for low-income members of the community.
“As an institution, we are dedicated to serving all members of our local area and investing in the communities we serve,” said Bill Eccles, president and CEO of BankFive. “We recognize the great need for the services that is provided by Citizens for Citizens and are pleased to support them.”
Annually, Citizens for Citizens assists 42,000 households through short- and long-term programs such as fuel assistance, food pantry and rental assistance programs, as well as weatherization assistance, after-school day care, senior aide and family planning.
Eccles added, “It’s an honor to be recognized by such a respected and worthwhile organization, and I look forward to watching [its] programs’ success.” &#8226
