BankNewport building East Greenwich branch

NEWPORT – BankNewport says it will be building a new branch in East Greenwich and it is scheduled to open by the fall.
The 3,000-square-foot branch will be located at 1000 Division St., across from the Showcase Cinemas. The bank said it will be its first location in East Greenwich and its 13th branch overall.
“We are excited about the opening of our newest branch location,” Thomas W. Kelly, BankNewport’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “BankNewport has enjoyed a solid reputation of serving our mortgage and commercial loan customers in the East Greenwich area for many years. We look forward to continuing our role as a true community partner and neighbor to the residents and businesses of East Greenwich and the West Bay.”
The full-service branch will include two drive-up banking lanes and a drive-up ATM.
BankNewport has branches in North Kingstown, Narragansett and throughout the East Bay area.
The $1.1 billion BankNewport, founded in 1819, is the seventh largest bank by deposits, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The bank is a subsidiary of the Mutual Holding Co., OceanPoint Financial Partners, MHC.
