Barge pushing nonprofit diversity

CRANSTON – Financial consultancy Barge & Associates LLC launched a website Oct. 31 to help pair “diverse” candidates with employment and nonprofit board position opportunities.
The site, InclusionLink.com, hopes to “encourage, promote and facilitate successful diversity and inclusion in corporate and nonprofit environments.”
People who are “diverse” in ethnicity, race, gender, or other attributes can create profiles and upload their resumes on the site. The website will also make individualized recommendation to employers and board representatives and provides personalized consultation and a follow-up.
“As the diversity of our communities increase, so does the need to reflect the diversity and inclusion of individuals with qualified professional skills and experience in the workforce,” said Denise A. Barge, principal of Barge & Associates LLC.
“InclusionLink.com will provide new opportunities for successful career advancement and community service because it goes beyond small, restricted networks and brings qualifications and commitment together in one place.”
Barge said that candidates would not pay; employers or boards would be charged an annual membership fee of $2,000 and nonprofits would receive a 50 percent discount.
The website is free, however, through January.
