Cancer Society honors volunteers from community

The American Cancer Society’s local chapter has recognized several volunteers, community leaders and businesses for their involvement with the organization in the past year.
Volunteers honored included ABC6/WLNE-TV and Judy Shoemaker, director of marketing and promotion, who won the 2006 Media Award; Mark Gasbarro, president of Gasbarro’s Wines, who won the New England division Sandra Labaree Volunteer Value Award; Robert Roselli, primary driver for Road to Recovery, who won the Service Award; Marcia Madison, community outreach coordinator for Lifespan, who won the Community Partner Award; and the Centers for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine at The Miriam Hospital and Brown University, and Dr. Bernardine Pinto, Dr. Carolyn Rabin and Susan Abdow, who won the Research Award.
