Chafee announces choice for head of business regulation

PROVIDENCE – Gov.-elect Lincoln D. Chafee has announced that Paul McGreevy is his choice to be the next director of the Department of Business Regulation.
The Department of Business Regulation primarily implements laws related to the regulation and licensing of businesses and conducts administrative hearings involving issuances, suspensions or revocations.
McGreevy, a former Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy and a business consultant, served as project manager for Chafee’s gubernatorial campaign and is currently the transition manager. He spent 14 years as senior management and an IT consultant with KPMG LLP, BearingPoint Inc., and Deloitte Consulting LLP, Chafee’s office said in a news release adding that McGreevy specialized in business strategic planning, organizational development and technology architecture for federal agencies.
McGreevy, a Newport resident, has a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs and Economics from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in International Relations from Boston University, and a master’s degree in National Security Affairs from the Naval War College.
