Choice One announces strong results

ROCHESTER, N.Y.– Integrated communications provider Choice One Communications
has announced operating and financial results for the second quarter ended June
30, 2001. Revenue for the second quarter was $41.8 million, up 20 percent from
first-quarter 2001 and 301 percent from one year ago. Second-quarter gross profit
was $12.2 million, or 29.2 percent of revenue, compared with $8.9 million, or
25.4 percent of revenue in first-quarter 2001. Selling, general and administrative
(SG&A) expenses were $33.1 million compared with $31.8 million in first quarter
2001. While revenue grew by 20 percent from first quarter, SG&A expenses increased
only 4 percent during the same period.
