WARWICK – Cornerstone Adult Services Inc., an adult day care provider, and the Saint Elizabeth Community, a nursing home company, have formally signed an affiliation agreement.
In January, Cornerstone agreed to join Saint Elizabeth’s network, which also includes Saint Elizabeth Manor in Bristol, Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich, and Saint Elizabeth Place and Saint Elizabeth Court in Providence.

The deal was signed last week after it received approval from state regulators.
The two organizations said the deal would provide the elderly and their families with “a new one-stop-shopping system of health services, including adult day health centers, independent living, assisted living and nursing home options.”
“Coming together will allow us to create a system that’s seamless, where people can move from one service to the other,” Roberta M. Merkle, Cornerstone’s president and CEO, told PBN in January. “And it’s also a no-wrong-door approach, where no matter where people come in, we’ll get them to the services they need.”
Cornerstone will keep its own board of directors and separate nonprofit identity.
The Saint Elizabeth Community is a 126-year-old nonprofit with 425 employees and a $25 million annual operating budget that owns and runs four nursing homes in Rhode Island. For more information, visit StElizabethCommunity.com.
