Cox announces Amazon Prime access via Contour

WEST WARWICK – Contour customers of Cox Communications now have access to Amazon Prime Video, the 18-state telecom company has announced.

Cox said the new access allows customers to see movies and TV shows all in one place with a voice command into their Contour voice remote.

Kevin Hart, Cox executive vice president and chief product and technology officer, said the move is one of further service integration.

“We’ve removed the complexity that comes with toggling, switching inputs or the necessity of watching on a smaller screen. Now all you have to do is say the name of your favorite Prime Video show or movie … and it will appear on your TV,” he said.

To launch the app itself, users just need to say “Prime Video” to see the page, then say the name of the show or movie they wish to see. If they know the title of what they want to view, they can just say that, even if the Prime Video app is not open.

Contour customers can use the voice remote to pull from content available on Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and iHeartRadio.
