Farm Fresh Rhode Island to hold
nutrition workshops this summer

PAWTUCKET – This summer, interactive food and nutrition workshops hosted by Farm Fresh Rhode Island will offer tips for families receiving federal food assistance on shopping for affordable seasonal foods and how to prepare them in healthy, kid-friendly ways.

The Healthy Foods, Healthy Families program will take place at farmers markets this summer for families enrolled in the Women, Infant and Children program or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Workshops are provided in both English and Spanish. For each week of participation, families can take advantage of Farm Fresh RI’s dollar-for-dollar match for SNAP users at most farmers markets across the state. Other program benefits include free samples, games, recipes and financial incentives.
