ASADORIAN: We are hosting another event as part of our Business Owner Breakfast Series. We regularly facilitate these forums to share useful resources with business owners and their advisers. On the 11th, we will be focused on an educational discussion about blockchain and cryptocurrencies, including what risks and opportunities this technology creates for business owners.

PBN: What made you decide to focus on blockchain and cryptocurrency?

ASADORIAN: Blockchain is a revolutionary technology in its early stages, similar to where the internet was in the early 1990s. And just like with the internet, there are risks and rewards. Additionally, blockchain technology has the potential to be more meaningful than the cryptocurrencies it powers over the long term. While most people have heard about blockchain, very few understand what the real implications of the technology are. We are looking forward to creating an opportunity for better understanding.

PBN: Who is your featured speaker and what’s his background?

ASADORIAN: Our speaker, Dave Fragale, co-founder of Atonomi, is an MIT [Massachusetts Institute of Technology] Sloan Fellow who worked at PwC [PricewaterhouseCoopers], where he founded PwC’s Blockchain Intelligence Lab to advise and train government and financial institutions on terrorist financing, as well as AML [anti-money laundering] and BSA [Bank Security Act] concerns in the cryptocurrency market.

PBN: Why is it important for business owners and investors to understand this topic area?

ASADORIAN: Similar to the way the internet changed how business is transacted, blockchain will facilitate significant change across all industries. As a business owner, it is important to understand how this technology will affect your business in order to adapt, prosper and avoid becoming obsolete.

PBN: How can individuals and organizations benefit from attending this event?

ASADORIAN: Like all events in our ongoing series, it’s intended to educate, engage and create useful dialogue around subjects that matter to our clients. The goal for this event is to help demystify blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. We hope our guests will leave the discussion with deeper knowledge and greater insights on the topic to help fuel their continued success as business owners and investors.
