MASHANTUCKET, Conn. – Foxwoods Resort Casino today expanded its executive suite, naming Edward Stanton to serve as vice president of hotel operations and Judy Alberti to serve as vice president of entertainment and sports for Foxwoods Resort Casino and the MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
Both bring “a wealth of industry experience and enthusiasm” to their respective positions, the company said.
Stanton – who has more than 23 years experience in the hotel industry – holds a Six Sigma certified black belt for process improvements, revenue enhancement, cost savings and guest satisfaction. Before joining Foxwoods, he had served as hotel manager for the Westin Copley Place in Boston; general manager for the Sheraton in Lexington, Mass.; and held various positions within Starwood and Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
In his new role, he will be responsible for day-to-day operations at the three existing hotels at Foxwoods – the Grand Pequot Tower, Great Cedar Hotel and Two Trees Inn – working with various in-house departments. (The new MGM Grand at Foxwoods will not be part of Stanton’s responsibilities, resort publicist Erin Breen told Providence Business News in a telephone interview today. The hotel – part of an addition that totals nearly 2 million square feet – began hiring last month and is slated to open in mid-May. READ MORE)

Alberti – who has an extensive background in the gaming and entertainment industries – most recently served as CEO of the 5,000-seat Dodge Theater in Phoenix, and before that was vice president of entertainment for the nine Station Casinos in Las Vegas.
Besides overseeing the recruitment of acts to perform in the Fox Theatre and the new MGM Grand Theater, Alberti will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the arcade and related entertainment venues, including The Club and the various lounges.
Foxwoods Resort Casino, opened in 1992, now comprises a 4.7 million square foot complex that includes six casinos totaling 340,000 square feet of gaming space; three hotels – the Grand Pequot Tower, Great Cedar Hotel and Two Trees Inn – totaling more than 1,400 guest rooms, 25 conference rooms and 55,000 square feet of meeting space; a luxury spa; and restaurants, entertainment and retail venues.
