Mr. Fugate has earned national recognition for Rhode Island’s Ocean Special Area Management Plan, led by CRMC and the University of Rhode Island, now a national model for marine planning.
The bold groundwork laid by that process helped Rhode Island speed past neighboring states to develop our first-in-the-nation offshore wind farm. Those massive steel structures going into the water show that Rhode Island can still make big things. And thanks to that project, we’ll be powering a cleaner, more resilient Ocean State.
