Group offers financial consultation

PROVIDENCE – The Financial Planning Association of Rhode Island is offering a chance to “Start the Year Off Right” with a free consultation from a certified financial planner in February and March.
The association said the program is part of its mission to provide some pro-bono services to those who cannot afford a financial planner. The goal of “Start the Year Off Right” is to assist young families, the elderly and those with mortgage and debt problems.
The program provides a certified financial planner for a one-hour free consultation to talk about cash flow, debt management, retirement planning, education funding, asset allocation, insurance needs and estate planning.
For information, visit www.fpari.org or call (401) 421-8900. The association will provide a list of participating CFPs from around the state.
