International Game Technology contract extended for Italy’s Scratch & Win game

PROVIDENCE – Global gaming leader International Game Technology PLC has announced Lotterie Nazionali, a joint venture that is exclusive manager of Scratch & Win in Italy, accepted a nine-year contract extension with IGT for the Scratch & Win game. The contract will be good through Sept. 30, 2028.

Lotterie Nazionali is owned by IGT subsidiary Lottomatica Holding (64 percent), and directly and indirectly owned by Scientific Games Corp. (20 percent) and by Arianna 2001 (16 percent), according to an IGT news release.

Lotterie Nazionali will pay 800 million euros – about $939.3 million – in three installments on Dec. 15, and in April and October of 2018. The payments will be prorated based on the partners’ respective ownership percentage. According to IGT, all conditions of the deal are the same as the original concession.

IGT, which has offices in Providence, is based in London.
