PROVIDENCE – The battle of the smart phones has a clear winner in Rhode Island.

Apple’s lead in Rhode Island is mirrored throughout much of the nation, with the iPhone ahead of Android in 37 states and the two platforms about even in five more.
Android beats the iPhone in eight states, all but one of which are west of the Mississippi: Arizona, Maryland, New Mexico, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota and Wyoming.
Deerfield Beach, Fla.-based Myxer said the study was based on information collected from the roughly 31 million Americans who use its products.
