WARWICK – The Jewelers Board of Trade has named Erich Jacobs its new president, effective Aug. 31, JBT announced Thursday.
Jacobs succeeds Richard Weisenfeld, who was appointed in March 2018. Prior to that, he had served on the organization’s board of directors for 17 years, including as chairman of the board in 2014-2015.

Jacobs currently serves as the vice president of IT for the organization.
JBT said that Weisenfeld’s tenure saw a streamlining of the nonprofit.
It was noted in the announcement from the group that was attributed to JBT Board Chair Michael Kaplan that Jacobs’ technological and business acumen are “of great importance to JBT.”
JBT is a nonprofit member-owned association that delivers commercial credit information, collections, marketing services, and data and statistics on retail, wholesale and manufacturing jewelers. Its stated mission is to promote the welfare of its members by providing accurate information, effective collection services and education.
