KVH ships 10K VSAT systems to connect mariners around the world

MIDDLETOWN – Mobile connectivity company KVH Industries Inc. has announced a milestone, the shipping of its 10,000th VSAT satellite communication system.

Established in the mid-1980s, the manufacturing company produces a full line of high-throughput satellite antenna systems. It introduced the TracPhone V7, the first maritime 60-cm VSAT terminal, and mini-VSAT Broadband service in 2007. The company also provides high-speed connectivity, voice service, “internet of things” capabilities and other solutions to commercial vessels and leisure yachts.

“The accelerating adoption of our TracPhone VSAT systems and connectivity … reflects the demand for the affordable airtime, fast data speeds, network security, IoT proactive monitoring and value-added services that we deliver,” said Martin Kits van Heyningen, KVH CEO, in a statement. He said KVH has a fully integrated solution for boaters who want to stay connected with people on the shore or commercial businesses that need connected ships to remain competitive.

In September, the company won a Product of Excellence Award for its 37-cm TracPhone V3-HTS from the National Marine Electronics Association.
