Lindsey Brickle | 39 | Senior Workforce Manager, Polaris MEP

How do you think COVID-19 will change your industry going forward? As an organization that provides training in response to industry need, our partners needed to find creative ways to broaden the workforce in advanced manufacturing – that means finding ways to train folks with more barriers to training and employment, to keep the knowledge that is walking out the door with an aging workforce and to training both remotely and in person for maximum impact.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Listen, process, then talk … and only if you have something to add.

What was your first job? Catering bartender.

What is your greatest attribute that you bring to your job? A relentless positive outlook, wild amounts of energy and a fundamental understanding of my privilege.

Fox or MSNBC? MSNBC.

What are you looking forward to doing again the most post-pandemic? Adventures with friends and family.

What does winning this award mean to you? It means I need to work harder to use the visibility of the platform to create and sustain better workforce programs for unemployed folks and Rhode Island manufacturers. Also, it’s nice to feel like we are doing something right!
