North Providence RI- Phillip Griffin and Malinda Coletta owners of Professor Chef a Cooking School in North Providence RI were recently awarded an Honorable Mention medal in the 2013 Best of Wine Making Competition at the West Valley Inn on April 6th.  Over 90 bottles of wines and spirits were entered and judged by a panel of wine making professionals.

Griffin and Coletta entered a Malvasia wine made directly from grapes that they crush and press from the fall California grape harvest.  They are very proud that their wine contains no additives or preservatives not even yeast.  Griffin said “All our wines are made the old fashion way just pure crushed grape, it’s a risk that we are willing to take to get a natural wine that tastes great”.  Coletta added “It’s a back breaking process not to mention very messy, but to see the joy on someone face as they enjoy your home made vintages makes it all worth while”.
