
MIDDLETOWN – The McLaughlin Research Corp. has been awarded a potential $27.8 million task order for the U.S. Navy, the company said Oct. 15.
The five-year order, which was competitively awarded, is for engineering, technical and functional administrative services for the Torpedo Weapon System programs at the Naval Undersea Warfare Division in Newport.

This is the fifth task order awarded to MRC since April for engineering and technical support services in Newport related to underwater weapon and acoustic systems, the company said.
“This follow-on award to support the Undersea Weapons Acquisition and Life Cycle Engineering Division is a key win for us at MRC,” said Warren Blakeley, MRC president. “It validates the Navy’s confidence in our dedicated employees, who have consistently provided high-quality services over such an exceptionally long period of time.”
The subcontractors on the task order will be SAIC, Sonalysts and I Squared Systems.
