Over the past year, Blue Cross rolled out initiatives such as MyStrength, a digital mental health tool, along with RethinkCare, which allows caregivers to meet with board-certified behavior analysts.

During Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Blue Cross invited community members to present their work on youth mental health. The company also hosted mindfulness classes and monthlong discussions on mental health topics for employees.

“Some of our efforts around leave policies and mental health hit really close to home for me. After my husband [died], I took time off from a former job to travel with my school-age children and process our grief,” Bergmann said. “When I came to Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, I appreciated the work-life balance and scheduling flexibility.”
