Sharon Trask has been named vice president and branch manager of Webster Bank’s newest branch, located on Pontiac Avenue in Cranston. PBN: What are you looking forward to in your new position?
TRASK: I am looking forward to getting out into the community and helping the community get to know Webster Bank. It is a community-minded, family-oriented bank with a wonderful history. Our current CEO, Jim Smith, is just the second CEO we have had since the bank was founded in Waterbury, Conn. in 1935 by his father, Harold Webster Smith.
As part of our grand opening, our new 1155 Pontiac Ave. branch will have an exciting Welcome Week from Aug. 24 to Aug. 29. The week will be packed with events such as children’s safety events; a Cranston Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event on Thursday, Aug. 27; a barbecue catered by Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse and music on Friday, Aug. 28; and on Saturday, Aug. 29, a charity dog wash that includes a live WWLI-FM Lite 105.1 radio broadcast from the branch and refreshments. Tuesday through Saturday of that week also will feature $500 cash giveaways each day and many product offerings.

PBN: What are your responsibilities?
TRASK: Like all Webster employees, it is my responsibility to embrace and enact Webster’s values, what we call the Webster Way: taking personal responsibility for meeting customers’ needs; respecting the dignity of every individual; earning trust through ethical behavior; giving of ourselves in the communities we serve; and working together to achieve outstanding results.

PBN: What amenities are available at Webster Bank’s new branch office?
TRASK: Both the lobby and drive-up windows have extended hours Monday through Friday until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the lobby and drive-up. We offer night depository service, a two-lane drive-up banking window and a drive-up ATM. Our branch offers a wide array of products for individuals and businesses. We can accommodate any request from obtaining a mortgage, business financing, free investment consultation and of course a wide variety of deposit products. &#8226
