The 35th annual Citizens Bank Save The Bay Swim on July 23 was expected to raise more than $275,000 for the environmental group’s efforts to protect and restore Narragansett Bay. A record 466 swimmers and countless kayakers completed the 1.7-mile trek from Newport to Jamestown. The event is Save The Bay’s biggest annual fundraiser and has become “the means by which we can provide science education [and] keep the waters clean for fish and native habitat,” said Executive Director Jonathan Stone. /
