Providence Business News will be accepting applications starting Monday for the 9th annual Business Excellence Awards. The program is one of the region’s longest-running and best-known business recognition programs.
There are six award categories:

- Business Leadership (for an individual)
- Business Excellence at large company (more than 100 employees)
- Business Excellence at small-mid size company (less than 100 employees)
- Excellence at a Nonprofit
- Community Service
- Entrepreneurship (company or individual)
Any business in Rhode Island or Bristol County, Mass., is eligible to apply. The deadline for entrants is Friday, Oct. 9.
Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges. The winners will be named in mid-October.

The winners will be celebrated at an awards dinner on Nov. 19 at the Providence Marriott Downtown, and featured in a PBN special section that week.
